I have been having a lot of fun with time-lapse video lately and so I took for Flip Mino out to the Columbia, Mo., fireworks last week. I sped it up to 10,000% on my iMac with Final Cut Express and kept the nat sound.

Harvard Yard

Harvard Yard

There must be more snow there this morning but I grabbed these photos as flurries dusted Harvard Yard as I was leaving Sunday. Harvard’s Veritas motto can be translated to “truth,” but the John Harvard statue is also called the Statue of Three Lies; it’s not John Harvard, he wasn’t the Founder, and the date’s wrong.

Twacked!

twWhat do Barack Obama, Bill O’Reilly and Britney Spears have in common?

According to the Twitter Blog, at least 33 “prominent” Twitter accounts had been “hacked” – apparently explaining some unusual posts today – but were soon locked down and under control again.

PCWorld has a good overview, and TechCrunch has the memorable screenshots but I won’t be posting them here.

Responses that followed when I Twittered the news varied from “freakin’ great” to “just plain mean.”

Twitter says this was unrelated to the Twitter phishing scam we heard about over the weekend.
