I would definitely pay. NYT has some of the best writing around. I’d probably re-start my paper edition first, though.

No. I’ll never pay to access a newspaper website.

I think the commenter above makes a good point that people are way too cheap about paying for content. But it’s very difficult to go from a free to a pay model. The NYT did it once and suffered…

Charges are coming & nothing on the web will be free.
You can’t place enough adds on a single web page
to pay the bills for an entire news gathering operation.

Not sure why NYT times would think this would work now as it didn’t work last time.

Would I pay? Probably not because everything else is free. Yes, only the Times is the Times, but there’s so many sources to choose from today.

Now I read the Times only but don’t subscribe.
